Animal
Grade: A
Release Date: January 5, 2010
Summary:
Ke$ha released her debut album, Animal, on January 5, 2010 which quickly climbed to the top of the Itunes charts. Not only did this album reach number one on the Itunes Top Albums chart, a number of the songs from the album took over the Top Songs chart as well. "Animal" is an amazing album. I was a bit skeptial of this album thinking every song would have basically the same beat and/or lyrics. But, boy was I wrong! Every song on this album has a unique feel to it whether it contains interesting noises within the song or lyrics that make you wonder what she was thinking about when she wrote them. Ke$ha has an impressive co-written right on every song on the album! Instead of telling you about each and every song I enjoy, it would be easier if I would tell you the one song I'm not too fond of. This one track is the one and only song I dislike off of the album. The title of this song is called "Dinosaur." Now, don't get me wrong, when you first listen to this song, it's pretty funny since the lyrics talk about an "old man" and how this man stalks young girls. But, there is just something about the beat and the lyrics that just don't fit well together. On the other hand, every other song off of the 16-track Itunes Bonus Track Edition is fabulous. One of my favorites off of the album is "Blah Blah Blah" which features 3OH!3. This song is rumored to be her second single; the first single is a well-known song called "Tik Tok." "Blah Blah Blah" has one of those beats that you can't help but dance too! Another one of my favorite songs would have to be "Hungover." This song is a bit on the slower side, but it has a great meaning. All in all, this album is one that will stay around for awhile; it's one that people will actually remember which is a hard thing to accomplish in this day and age of the music industry. Make sure to pick up your copy of "Animal" today!
